A story of Prince Arutha and the magician Pug facing moredhel sorcery in Silverthorn.

Tsurani Invasion Force

The provided source text describes events from Silverthorn, a novel released in 1985 as part of The Riftwar Saga. It details the struggle against Murmandamus, a moredhel chieftain and powerful sorcerer who seeks to destroy the Kingdom of Midkemia. While the source mentions a 'dark force' speaking in ancient Tsurani that poses a danger to both worlds, it does not describe a 'Tsurani Invasion Force,' their specific military tactics, or an Emperor named Ahrman leading a campaign from Kelewan into Midkemia during this specific narrative arc.

Lore & Background

The threat originates from agents operating out of the temple of Lims-Kragma, Goddess of Death, including altered moredhel individuals. These enemies possess such power that they 'held the gods in contempt' and could raise the dead to renew attacks even after being defeated. A specific poison called 'silverthorn,' given by a moredhel agent, was used against Princess Anita.

In Their Own Story

Prince Arutha returns to Krondor for his wedding when Jimmy the Hand foils an assassination attempt. The attackers are revealed to be agents of Lims-Kragma, one of whom rises from the dead to address Arutha as 'Lord of the West.' After a failed assault on their hideout where assassins rise from the grave, a final attack poisons Princess Anita with silverthorn. Pug slows time to save her while Arutha searches for an antidote. In Kelewan, Pug is declared an outlaw by the Tsurani Assembly but eventually learns of the ancient enemy's return. Meanwhile, Arutha travels to moredhel-held territory near Lake Moraelin to find silverthorn shrubs. With help from elves and Tomas, they defeat the general Murad and return the cure just as Anita is saved.

Reader's Guide

The only Tsurani elements mentioned are an ancient enemy speaking their language and a rift to Kelewan created by Pug.
